OP Nazionale Italia Cereali

OP Nazionale Italia Cereali – per Filiere di Qualità is a consortium between more than 30 co-operatives, farmers, private storage enterprises and seed producers. OP Italia Cereali has been established in 2009, and since then markets (yearly average) more than 35.000 tons of durum wheat and 15.000 tons of common wheat.

Our production focuses on high quality grains, and this allowed OP Italia Cereali, as far as durum wheat concerns, to sign long-term cultivation and supply contracts with the leading Italian pasta industries, such as Barilla, De Cecco and La Molisana. Also for the common wheat, OP Italia Cereali works mainly based on cultivation contracts, with the use of varieties that have been selected according to the milling industries’ standards and needs.

This has been possible thanks to a strong co-operation with seed producers (CGS Sementi, Produttori Sementi Bologna) and the use of up-to-date Decision Support Systems as grano.net®.

Our members’ operation areas are Lombardy, Marche, Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, but we are expanding towards the Southern regions, where the national durum wheat production is almost concentrated.
